ABSTRACT
Climate change suffered by the planet has caused, among other things, negative effects on agriculture [1]. This, together with the deforestation of forests caused by the felling of trees or accidental fires, mark an adverse scenario for the planet that could cause the loss of plant, animal and even microbial diversity [2-5].
For this reason, in different regions of the world, the creation of germplasm banks has been proposed [6, 7], especially seeds in order to protect the largest number of plant species; as a source to reforest or propagate agriculrure crops [8, 9]. This effort must be joint with the participation of the government, specialist scientists, universities, companies and even the general population [8].
However, there is a very narrow line between safeguarding germplasm for altruistic purposes and safeguarding seeds for commercial purposes [10]. Therefore, the programs of these germplasms should be regulated in such a way as to have seed banks supported by governments to reforest environments [7-9] and other seed banks of companies with commercial purposes [10-12]; even with the obligation to transfer their germplasm in case of emergency.
This cover shows spheres of abundance (Figure 1) that represent how certain seeds are controlled by the industry [13], which is why they are enclosed and isolated in a wooden bowl. This small reflection is made in order for the entire population to get involved in saving our planet and be the main actors in the protection of some seeds.
